Construction of synthetic organelles for biotechnology

Project Description

This synthetic biology project aims to improve fine chemical production in yeast. This will be achieved by compartimentalisation of novel biosynthetic functions into yeast peroxisomes. This biotechnologically relevant project will combine expertise across various disciplines of life sciences including recombinant DNA technology, genome engineering, cell biology and biochemistry.
