With the global population reaching 9.6 billion by 2050 and cities set to expand, there is an urgent need to explore ways of making urban areas more sustainable. This project revolves around critically evaluating the potential of new concepts, such as radical green infrastructure (green walls, roofs etc) and urban agriculture (the growing of food in the city), and ascertaining their value within such settings. Through using a mixed methods approach, the candidate will collect an array of data on these popular tools and provide crucial information on the need for these concepts in cities across the globe.
