About the Project

A PhD in Creative Writing at Keele offers the opportunity to combine a substantial manuscript (or other form) of creative work with a critical piece which forms a dialogue with the creative work. Keele has expertise in poetry (James Sheard), life writing and the novel (Tim Lustig), and theory, criticism and creative writing (Ceri Morgan); a co-supervisory system allows for the expansion of creative work into areas such as political, historical, post-colonial and cross-cultural fictions and poetries.
