Project Description

**Opportunity for Australian Domestic Candidates only**

Cyber Security for Vehicles and Vehicular Networks

This project aims to develop cyber security schemes for vehicles and vehicular networks. We start by reviewing and demonstrating existing vehicle security risks and cyber defence schemes and standards. Further research and development will address new challenges on cyber security, data privacy and trust in Intelligent Transport Systems, include connected cars, vehicular networks, autonomous driving vehicles. Cyber security solutions will be designed and implemented to address security challenges in vehicles and vehicular networks. The PhD candidate will have opportunities to work closely with technical staff members of IAG to develop industrial solutions.

Requirements:
- Bachelor (Honours) of Engineering or Computer Science with Cyber Security Major or similar disciplines.
- Understanding cyber security concepts including malware, viruses, ransomware, command-and-control, vulnerabilities, exploits, phishing etc.
- Understanding of networking technology and concepts, common protocols and standards such as TCP/IP, IEEE 802.11, OSI Model, DNS etc.
- Knowledge of wireless technologies are desirable
- Mathematics and research skills would be an advantage
- Programming skills, such as Python or C++, would be an advantage."
