Nanomedicine based therapeutics (including RNA-based vaccines) are now playing a key role in global healthcare. To widen the use of nanomedicines, this project will focus on developing nanomedicine formulation and manufacturing knowledge and expertise. This project will develop microfluidic methods to de-risk the formulation and manufacturing of nanomedicines and brings together the world-leading expertise with the teams of Perrie within the University of Strathclyde (expertise in formulation and microfluidic production of nanomedicines) and Curia Scotland a CDMO with leading expertise in formulation development, scale-up and clinical manufacture of parenteral drug products, including liquid, lyophilised, emulsions and complex aseptic processes.
If you are someone with a passion for science and working across scientific interfaces and you are ambitious, self-motivated with the skills to develop new ideas and use nanotechnology to generate big ideas. Then this PhD is an ideal opportunity for you. You will also need to be a UK student who has at least an Upper Second-Class Honours degree in a biological or chemical science or a related subject.
By joining this collaboration, you will gain from a world-class research programme in the fields of pharmaceutical formulation, manufacture and nanomedicines. As a PhD student you will join the Strathclyde Institute of Pharmacy and Biomedical Sciences, a leading centre for research and training focused on the discovery, development, and delivery of better medicines. Our campus is based right in the very heart of Glasgow - one of its ’Best of the World’ destinations (National Geographic) and vote the world’s friendliest city (Rough Guide readers).
We look forward to hearing from interested candidates. Informal enquiries can be made to Professor Yvonne Perrie ([Email Address Removed]).
