About the Project

Fully Funded MSc by Research Studentship in the Nursing Midwifery and Early Years Research Group (NMEY), Dundalk, Ireland

KEYWORDS: Domestic, Sexual and Gender-based Violence, Reusable Learning Objects (RLO's), Evaluation, Mixed Methods Research

Through the RiVeR Project, Dundalk Institute of Technology (DkIT) is responding to the impacts of domestic, sexual and gender-based violence through research, education and training.

This exciting research opportunity will be attractive to candidates interested in Domestic, Sexual and Gender based Violence.

This Initiative is the development of a Reusable Learning Object (RLO), which will engage frontline professionals and support staff who support individuals experiencing Domestic, Sexual and Gender based Violence. The Department of Justice in their 2022 policy promotes the need for more holistic understanding of the life experience of these individuals and their complex and sometimes-chaotic lives in order to better support them. The content for this RLO will be developed by the student, using evidence based literature and input from stakeholders including Women’s Aid, MOVE Ireland. The RLOs will use interlinked vignettes and engaging interactive learning exercises to increase the preparedness of frontline professional and support workers to engage with individuals experiencing Domestic Sexual and Gender-Based Violence. This project aims to find out if this RLO is effective in preparing frontline professionals and support workers in this area.
