Development of high performance calorimetry for future collider experiments

Project Description

Future collider experiments require much higher performance calorimetry than we can build at present. We are investigating how to develop these detectors, primarily for future electron-positron colliders such as ILC and CLIC, carrying out both simulation and hardware studies for a novel CMOS pixel based approach, the so-called ’digital ECAL’. The work will be carried out within the ILD, CLIC and CALICE Collaborations.

International travel will be required during the studentship.

This project will take place within the Particle Physics group at the University.
