About the Project

We are developing a new type of highly-sensitive optical sensor that is based on the integration of quantum optics and a plasmonic device. The quantum-optics is based on a unique squeezed-light source, and the plasmonic device is based on a novel architecture that insures optimum specificity of the material being analyzed. We will research the physics of the quantum plasmonic interaction and develop novel applications in material sensing as well as environment sensing.

The device operates at room temperature and without requiring complex expensive fabrication or hard-to-obtain components. The lab is is very-well equipped with all of the necessary infrastructure, and the supervisors have many years of experience in these fields.

We are interested in excellent PhD students who have some background in electrooptics/plasmonics/quantum optics.

The lab group includes undergraduate, Masters, PhD and Post-Doc researchers, from Israel as well as from other countries.
