About the Project

One of the major needs for achieving the decarbonisation targets in the construction industry is the development of innovative low-carbon construction materials for the development of future infrastructure or for the repair of existing deteriorated ones. This can include novel low carbon cement-based, low carbon polymeric-based composites or low carbon bricks/mortars, to name a few. I In this project, you will have the opportunity to work on the development of innovative construction material of your choice (belonging to any of the above groups) or to optimise the performance of an existing one. During the course of the project, you will receive extensive hands-on training on advanced materials modelling and testing technologies, you will closely work with world-renowned academics and experts in the field and you will have the opportunity to interact with industrial partners.
