About the Project

In the context of a PhD thesis, novel hybrid-diradicals will synthesized. These will serve as precursors for new-classes of polymers and materials with potential application in organic electronics and photovoltaics. Fundamental insight into the reactivity with small molecules will be translated into desirable properties of the bulk materials. Salary is in accordance with the TV-L salary scale (E13, fixed term 3 years, 50%).

Job requirements:

  •       Chemical synthesis and characterization of the physicochemical properties of the products
  •       Scientific analysis and publication of the results
  •       Presentation of your scientific findings at international and national conferences
  •       Maintenance of laboratory standards, equipment and safety
  •       Acquisiton of first experience in student supervision and training.

The succesful candidate will also be expected to:

  •       Skilled in inorganic and organic synthesis, experience in handling air-sensitive compounds and/or polymers is advantageous
  •       Basic knowledge in chemical spectroscopy (NMR, ideally also EPR, UV-Vis, IR, electrochemistry)
  •       Curiosity, enthusiasm and motivation to acquire and generate new knowledge and advance science
  •       Good team spirit, high level of commitment
  •       German skills are a plus, yet not mandatory
  •       Please provide your statement of research and prior experience
