Project Description

An exciting PhD opportunity exists in the field of theoretical chemical physics. The topic is on resonance energy transfer and quantum decoherence.

Students with a good degree in physics, chemistry, mathematics or natural sciences (with relevant majors) are encouraged to apply. Good programming skills in Python and/or Fortran are highly desirable. For background see Ford et al. J. Chem. Phys. Lett. 10 (18), 5654-5661, 2019. Contact:

This is a PhD programme.
The start date of this project is 1 October 2020.
The mode of study is full-time.
The studentship length is 3 years.

Entry requirements: Acceptable first degrees are - Good degree in physics, chemical physics, chemistry, mathematics or natural sciences
The standard minimum entry requirement is 2:1.

Funding Notes

This PhD project is in a competition for a Faculty of Science funded studentship. Funding is available to UK/EU applicants and comprises home/EU tuition fees and an annual stipend of £15,009 for 3 years. Overseas applicants may apply but they are required to fund the difference between home/EU and overseas tuition fees (which for 2019-20 are detailed on the University’s fees pages at View Website . Please note tuition fees are subject to an annual increase).
