Eco-innovations for Sustainable Consumption - MScR in Global Environmental Challenges

About the Project
Many eco-innovations promise more sustainable ways of life. Eco-innovations can be technological (such as energy saving lightbulbs, solar panels, electric vehicles, paper straws) or organisational (such as local food networks, online service sharing platforms, car sharing schemes or cycling schemes such as Yo-bike). This project will employ a case study approach of a selected ‘eco-innovation’ and employ a range of methodologies (from content analysis, interviews, participant observation or use of survey data) to critically examine ‘claims’ to its sustainability, how the eco-innovation is expected to ‘diffuse’ across society, and to explore ‘consumer’ uptake.
