The FamilyGenomics Research Group seeks to recruit a PhD student to join Dr Lorna Lopez and her team on her ERC Starting Investigator Award “Disrupted Circadian Rhythms in Families - an Endophenotype of Autism Spectrum Disorder?”. This award provides a unique opportunity to engage in ground-breaking frontier research and involves the design, analysis and results communication of a genome-wide risk score profiling project in our longitudinal FamilySleeps cohort and in large-scale biomedical databases including UK Biobank, ABCD and Generation Scotland. International training and travelling opportunities will be provided.
The PhD studentship would ideally suit a recent graduate with a strong background in either biomedical science (particularly genetic, epidemiology, or psychology) or statistics (with an interest in human health/biology) to apply. This is a four-year position, starting on 1st October 2022, and comes with a tax-free stipend of €18,500 and fees (EU and non-EU). This post will be filled as soon as possible, and before Friday 15th July 2022. Please apply with a cover letter and your CV, and contact details for two referees to Dr Lopez ([Email Address Removed]). Informal enquiries are welcome.
The CV should include grades of relevant coursework, academic distinctions, research experience and other practical experiences. Please also include previous oral presentations and scientific writing experience, if applicable. In the cover letter, please take the time to outline your research interests, your educational goals, and why you think you would be a good fit for the project.
