In the UK healthcare system, it is known that black and minority ethnic (BAME) populations including migrants have poorer health outcomes and experience barriers to accessing healthcare services (Bailey et al. 2018; Cook et al. 2019; Haque et al. 2020; Kapilashrami et al. 2018; Nambiar-Greenwood et al 2017; Szczepura, 2008). It is important that for BAME groups, reducing health inequality is made a priority. The medical literature presents a plethora of evidence about access to health services in BAME populations. Less is known about access to physiotherapy services in the UK health systems and access for some members of society is poorer than others(Dawes et al. 2017). Access to physiotherapy services in the UK has now been identified as a healthcare priority (Rankin et al. 2020). This project would seek to explore the access to physiotherapy services in the UK for BAME groups with a particular focus on the migrant population (forced and economic).
