Exploring the role of HR Analytics in Organisational Performance

Faculty of Management, Law and Social Sciences

, ,  Applications accepted all year round  Self-Funded PhD Students Only

About the Project

In recent years, digitalisation has introduced new opportunities for organisations and transformed various organisational functions, such as human resources (HR), towards the implementation of digital approaches. In this transformation process, with the emerging advantages of HR analytics, organisations strive to implement its tools in their processes or activities to explore how the adoption of digital tools (e.g. AI-based assessments) affect their organisational performance [1]. Although HR analytics is pivotal in supporting the decision-making [2] and competitive advantage of organisations, evaluating the impact of HR analytics on identifying talent needs and improving performance of organisations by enhancing employee engagement have received limited attention in the literature. Therefore, there is a need for adopting various tools and technologies for sustainable organisational development in strategic decision-making [3]. To this end, this project aims to investigate the following questions:

  1. What are the current studies on the integration of HR analytics and organisational performance?
  2. What are the current and emerging HR analytics tools in organisational practices?
  3. What is the role of HR analytics in strategic decision-making, employee engagement, and organisational performance?
  4. How organisational performance and the social impact of organisations can be enhanced in the global value chain through the use of HR analytics tools?

Our research group has an established track record in digital transformation, decision-making strategies, HR analytics. The focus of this project revolves around the collaboration of human resource management, strategic management, and business analytics domains.

About the University of Bradford

Bradford is a research-active University supporting the highest-quality research. We excel in applying our research to benefit our stakeholders by working with employers and organisations world-wide across the private, public, voluntary and community sectors and actively encourage and support our postgraduate researchers to engage in research and business development activities.

Positive Action Statement

At the University of Bradford our vision is a world of inclusion and equality of opportunity, where people want to, and can, make a difference. We place equality and diversity, inclusion, and a commitment to social mobility at the centre of our mission and ethos. In working to make a difference we are committed to addressing systemic inequality and disadvantages experienced by Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic staff and students.

Under sections 158-159 of the Equality Act 2010, positive action can be taken where protected group members are under-represented. At Bradford, our data show that people from Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic groups who are UK nationals are significantly under-represented at the postgraduate researcher level.

These are lawful measures designed to address systemic and structural issues which result in the under-representation of Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic students in PGR studies.
