About the Project

A fully-funded EPSRC Doctoral Training Partnership (DTP) PhD position is available to start in Oct 2019 in the Physics Department at Imperial College London for a UK student. The PhD project will be based in the Quantum Optics and Laser Science (QOLS) Group in the area of femtosecond lasers and attosecond science. This is a frontier research area in Physics and previous graduated PhD students from QOLS have found jobs as post-docs around the world in other leading groups or gone on to careers in high-tech industry or commerce. The project will be approximately 80/20 experimental/modelling. A 1st or 2:1 degree in Physics is required. Experience with lasers and photonics is desirable but not essential. However, candidates must have experience in experimental physics.
