Project Detail
This project will be eligible for application to the Techné Doctoral Training Partnership funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) which supports high quality candidates to pursue the ‘craft’ of research through innovative, interdisciplinary and creative approaches to the study of the arts and humanities.

TECHNE provides an outstanding graduate training experience, drawing together the best of traditional scholarship, history, theory and practice across ten higher education institutions in London and the South East, with extensive collaboration from 15 world-leading partners including the Natural History Museum, Royal Botanic Gardens Kew, the Science Museum and Crafts Council.

As a consortium member of TECHNE, the Institute for Design Innovation welcomes outstanding candidates with a research interest in exploring the inclusivity of digital innovation agenda in the urban setting. This agenda presupposes moving beyond innovation for accessibility to an iterative process of collaboration between disabled citizens, designers and town planners. This project will investigate whether design and/or designers promote or hinder such agenda through their current perception and understanding of inclusivity and their practices.
