Project Description

Start date: April 2020

Swansea University’s Department of Physics has a call for an immediate-start EPSRC funded scholarship in the following areas of departmental activity: Atomic and Molecular and Quantum Physics, Applied and Materials Physics, and Particle Physics and Cosmology Theory. Specific areas of research interest in the department can be found at https://www.swansea.ac.uk/physics/research-and-impact/. Applicants interested in the intersections between atomic, quantum and molecular physics are particularly encouraged. The studentship is for an immediate start and no later than April 2020.

Applications should be received before 1 March 2020, with interviews taking place as soon as possible thereafter.

Eligibility
Candidates must have a first, upper second class honours or a Master’s degree with Merit (or equivalent), in a relevant discipline. Informal enquiries and queries on eligibility (including residency eligibility) for this programme may be directed to the Postgraduate Admissions Tutor, Dr Ardalan Armin () who can then also direct to potential supervisors.

For candidates whose first language is not English, we require IELTS 6.5 (with 6.0 in each component) or equivalent. Please visit our website for a list of acceptable English language tests. We prefer candidates to have already met the English Language requirements at the point of application, although this is not a requirement.

Studentships funded by EPSRC are subject to UK/EU residency eligibility.

Funding Notes

This scholarship covers the full cost of UK/EU tuition fees and an annual stipend of £15,009 for three years.
