About the Project

'TO APPLY CLICK INSTITUTION WEBSITE'

This project is themed around new ways of working with the clinical information that is collected as part of routine stroke care.

The project will form part of a program of work, funded by the EU, and designed to improve stroke care in Europe.

Working with partners from across Europe, the student will assist on linked projects designed to standardise and automate clinical information; using data to predict stroke recovery and creating a stroke virtual assistant (chatbot) to assist stroke survivors and clinicians.

The PhD is designed to allow exposure to many differing research approaches and will include data driven, qualitative, and patient and clinician facing quantitative projects. An immersive research experience is proposed and engaging with all aspects of the research experience will be encouraged.

The nature of the project makes it suitable for applicants from life sciences, clinical, and data backgrounds.

The project will be based in the University academic offices located in Glasgow Royal Infirmary (City Centre) and the successful applicant will join a multidisciplinary team of researchers working on health and data related projects.

The supervisory team have a track record in supporting students to success including presentations at scientific meetings and publications in peer reviewed journals, the same is anticipated for this PhD programme.
