This project aims to deliver a full re-design of an industrial demonstrator to optimise the manufacturing process through injection moulding.
The project will computationally simulate the manufacturing process and optimise the processing/product design further for the novel research application of reduced energy consumption during manufacture. In addition, the project will also investigate the application of smart polymer materials in a bid to integrate a more sustainable polymer circular economy.
Within the project the integration of the underpinning manufacturing process will needed to be embedded within an Industry 4.0 platform.

Eligibility We welcome applications from candidates with an Engineering or Physical Science degree (minimum level 2:1), or a combination of degree and equivalent relevant experience to the same level, to join the M2A community of research engineers.

The scholarship covers the full cost of UK/EU tuition fees, plus a tax free stipend of £20,000 p.a. for a period of four years.
