The School of Architecture, Building and Civil Engineering aims to be the world’s leading integrated centre for built environment research, education, and learning. It is committed to investing in the next generation of exceptional researchers.
The School boasts world-class facilities, with a dedicated Research Hub for all researchers to work in, a 3,000m2 research laboratory, and one of the fastest High-Performance Computing clusters in the UK. Our award-winning doctoral researcher-led Research Hub Committee works within the School to ensure researchers have everything they need to conduct and deliver world-leading research.

Entry requirements for United Kingdom
Applicants should have or expect to achieve a 2:1 or first-class honours degree (or equivalent international qualification) in a relevant discipline. A relevant master’s degree and/or employment experience will be an advantage.

International fee
Fully funded full-time degree per annum
Tuition fees cover the cost of your teaching, assessment and operating University facilities such as the library, IT equipment and other support services. University fees and charges can be paid in advance and there are several methods of payment, including online payments and payment by instalment. Fees are reviewed annually and are likely to increase to take into account inflationary pressures.
Each three-year studentship provides a tax-free stipend of £17,668 a year (2022/23 rate) for the duration of the studentship plus tuition fees at the home or international rate.
