Functionally Graded Materials (FGM): New Configurations and Designs

School of Mechanical, Aerospace and Civil Engineering

Applications accepted all year round  Self-Funded PhD Students Only

About the Project

This investigation will focus on the relatively novel field of FGM. FGMs can be the answer to many problems associated to classical materials. Worldwide, industrial sectors are looking for multifunctional and safer materials for innovation and development of new technologies.

This research will help you to develop a combination of modelling and simulation skills in order to research the performance of FGM. This research will benefit from excellent computing facilities, expertise in computer-aided engineering (CA2M lab), the available experimental facilities including mechanical testing and 3D-printing manufacturing.
