About This PhD Project

Project Description

The Trippier laboratory at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) School of Pharmacy in Amarillo, Texas is recruiting for a Ph.D. studentship in Medicinal Chemistry and Chemical Biology with an anticipated start date in January 2019. The successful student will work on a funded project focusing on small molecule drug discovery. Research will involve synthetic medicinal chemistry, ADME optimization, mechanism of action determination and target identification.

Ideal Candidate

Qualified candidates must have a four-year undergraduate degree in chemistry or strong molecular sciences background with practical lab-based experience in synthetic organic chemistry, and other requirements as mentioned at

The Ph.D. program in the Trippier lab involves two years of coursework plus two to three years of research work. Admitted students are provided with a yearly Research Assistantship of $25,000 along with partial (80-90%) tuition waivers.
