This PhD invites applications for those interested in and generating new theories of aesthetics or contents analysis of contemporary and/or historic art. This PhD might involve the use of quantitative analysis and basic (SPSS) statistics to find new systematic ways of analysing art other than the subjective or speculative. Subjects may include (but are not limited to) gendered analysis of artworks achieving validation through art prizes, painting collections in national galleries, etc.
