About the Project

Essential: The applicant should:
Hold a minimum of an upper second class undergraduate degree (or equivalent) in subjects relevant to physical or environmental sciences, social sciences or maths.
Be able to demonstrate ability to undertake independent research
Desirable:
Additional experience or skills development relevant to decision sciences, environmental science or social sciences, such as modelling, mathematics, computing, psychology, communications.
Evidence of, or willingness to, work with stakeholders including private business, local and national government and scientific research organisations.
A Masters degree (or equivalent) in subjects relevant to physical or environmental sciences, social sciences or maths.
Some programming experience in analytical languages such as MATLAB or R.
The ideal candidate should have a desire to work in an interdisciplinary, applications-focused field of recognised international importance in decision sciences or geosciences. They will be a practical self-motivated person who will steer the development and direction of their project


Funding Notes

This is a faculty-funded project which includes a fee-waiver for home/EU students, and provides UKRI-level annual stipend of £14,777 (full time). The studentship will have standard UKRI support package to support research outputs and also training and development opportunities including conference attendance. The project will also benefit by nesting within the Global Environmental Monitoring and Policy (GEMaP) Centre for Doctoral Training.
