Dense particle flows are frequently appeared in many industrial applications including fluidized bed in pharmaceutical reactors and modern plastic recycling technologies. In this project, as a key member of a team, you will develop the knowledge and techniques for predictive computational modelling of dense melting particle flows using detailed unsteady and three-dimensional numerical simulations. You will work closely with experimentalist to discover the currently unknown mechanisms of the transport of mass, momentum and heat in such flow systems, and develop computational sub-models required in engineering calculations.
