Project detail

This research will investigate how we support and enable both teams and individuals to work in a high-performance industrial environment. We will be looking at impact on productivity and both mental and physical wellbeing (particularly with an ageing workforce), along with developing appropriate measures to map and analyse this the project will bring insight from the world of high-performance sport, systems ergonomics and industrial data representation to encourage a multi-disciplinary approach to the problem.

A wealth of data is available within the industrial context, what is less clear is what data is useful to integrate and map, the ethics surrounding data collection and mapping the data, how the data would be represented and who would use this information and for what purpose.

Start date of studentship: 01 October 2020.

Entry requirements

Applicants should have, or expect to achieve, at least a 2:1 Honours degree (or equivalent) in systems engineering, ergonomics or a related subject. A relevant Master’s degree and/or experience in one or more of the following will be an advantage: ergonomics and human factors, data representation
