Prof Caroline Gauchotte-Lindsay  No more applications being accepted  Competition Funded PhD Project (UK Students Only)

About the Project

The hiRACE Lab at the University of Glasgow is recruiting. We are putting analytical chemistry to the service of engineering and environmental engineering in particular. We develop both innovative methods using advanced chromatography and mass spectrometry and novel sensitive assays and sensors that can be used with routine lab equipment. Our approaches are designed to help understand and control biological, chemical and process mechanisms. We have a special interest in environmental biotechnologies but have also taken on challenges in combustion engineering, geochemistry and health.

Candidate Profiles: We are looking for candidates with interest in environmental sciences. They will have a demonstrable background in analytical chemistry, materials or physical chemistry or related topics. The candidates will have a strong motivation for interdisciplinary projects. Interested candidates should contact Dr Caroline Gauchotte-Lindsay ([Email Address Removed])

We are recruiting for one of the following projects

  1. Development of a HPTLC-SERS system for detection of contaminant in wastewater (with possibility to spend sometimes in Paris Université Sorbonne Nord) Details here: https://hirace.github.io/news.html
  2. Hospital-based waste treatment for high-value drugs recovery with Glasgow Caledonian University. Details here: https://hirace.github.io/news.html
  3. High-level characterisation of biodegradation of coal tar contaminated soil samples. Details here: https://hirace.github.io/news.html
Chemistry (6) Engineering (12) Environmental Sciences (13)
