Hydrodynamics of Particle-Laden Flows: aerosols

School of Engineering & Physical Sciences

About the Project

Air quality control relies on the simulation of aerosol dynamics. This research is to develop new theoretical model and simulation tools for these particle-laden flows. It is part of our UKRI project “From Kinetic Theory to Hydrodynamics: re-imagining two fluid models of particle-laden flows” Ref. EP/R008027/1 and EP/R007438/1.

Funding Notes

All applicants must have or expect to have a First-class UK Honours degree in Maths, Physics or Engineering; or an undergraduate degree at 2:1 or above and Masters award at Merit level in Maths, Physics or Engineering. Selection will be based on academic excellence and research potential. The funding scheme is Heriot-Watt University James Watt Scholarships.
