Identification and functional analysis of novel factors driving meiotic chromosome segregation in Caenorhabditis elegans

   Faculty of Medicine

Applications accepted all year round  Funded PhD Project (Students Worldwide)

About the Project

We are interested in identifying new factors involved in promoting faithful chromosome segregation during meiosis. From previous mass spectrometry-based screenings we have isolated several uncharacterized proteins that seem to hold important roles in crossover formation and DNA repair.

Requirements:

Strong skills in molecular biology, cytological analyses and biochemistry are highly desirable however not essential. Curiosity, a zest for knowledge and strong commitment are essential requirements. Strong communication and organization skills are also necessary.
