Dr Nicola Silva  Applications accepted all year round  Funded PhD Project (Students Worldwide)

About the Project

Affiliation: Masaryk University, Faculty of Medicine

Study program: PhD program Biomedical Sciences

Specialization: Biochemistry and Molecular Biology

Workplace: Department of Biology, Faculty of Medicine Mode:

Full-time Supervisor: Dr. Nicola Silva

We are interested in identifying new factors involved in promoting faithful chromosome segregation during meiosis. From previous mass spectrometry-based screenings we have isolated several uncharacterized proteins that seem to hold important roles in crossover formation and DNA repair. Funding: Institutional support

Requirements:

Strong skills in molecular biology, cytological analyses and biochemistry are highly desirable however not essential. Curiosity, a zest for knowledge and strong commitment are essential requirements. Strong communication and organization skills are also necessary.
