Impact of Sediment Transport and Vegetation to the Reservoir Hydrodynamics within Fluvial Environment

Faculty of Engineering & Digital Technologies

Applications accepted all year round  Self-Funded PhD Students Only

About the Project

Reservoirs and dams are popular control mechanisms for different water resources around the world. However, lately, there have been increasing incidences of reservoir failure linked to sediment transport and vegetation within its environment, that have caused massive financial and social impacts.

This project concentrates on finding the linkage of sediment transport and vegetation within the reservoir environment to its control and failure. The final outcome of this project will be used to form guidelines to reservoir and dam operation. The candidate will use the state-of-the-art laboratory facility and mathematical models to achieve this study.
