Intelligent Reliability Optimisation for Automotive Systems

About the Project

This project is looking at the integration of model based systems engineering methods and causal reasoning modelling for the behaviour of the automotive systems, focussing on propulsion systems, with data-driven modelling of driver and driving behaviour, to generate predictive insight for control features optimisation of propulsion systems to enhance performance and reliability. The validation of the research will be in conjunction with real world big data from the automotive systems operation, provided for relevant use cases and case studies by industrial collaborators.

The ideal candidate will have a good background in data analytics applied to an engineering context.

The University of Bradford Automotive Research Centre has a strong track record of collaborations with the global automotive industry focussed on the modelling and optimisation of complex automotive systems for reliability and robustness. This research project will be based in the interdisciplinary Advanced Automotive Analytics research laboratory.


Funding Notes

This is a self-funded PhD project; applicants will be expected to pay their own fees or have a suitable source of third-party funding. A bench fee may also apply to this project, in addition to the tuition fees. UK students may be able to apply for a Doctoral Loan from Student Finance for financial support.
