About the Project

Applications are invited from self-funded full-time applicants for a PhD project to develop an ‘Intelligent’ system to collect and analyse large amounts of data from a number of sources within a manufacturing environment. The project will focus on analyzing data to develop a smart factory based upon plant environmental and equipment condition monitoring, automated process control planning and real time production monitoring.

This project is suitable for students with a first class or upper second class (minimum 2.1) honours degree (in a related discipline) from a Higher Education Institution in the UK or an acceptable international equivalent qualification. The University of Sunderland is an eligible institution for U.S. (Federal School Code: G35073) and Canadian (EI Code: PUFL) Student Finance Programmes. All international students studying at postgraduate level are awarded a £1,500 scholarship in each year of study. You do not have to apply for this scholarship; it is automatically applied to reduce your total annual tuition fee.
