Project Description

We are developing interactive 3D environments for serious games and other ways of online interaction, in particular, but not exclusively, for learning purposes.

In this wide context, we are searching for a Ph.D. student that will face challenges in one or more of the following fields:

Development of 3D characters (Virtual Humans)
Artificial Intelligence
Learning analytics
Crowd simulation algorithms
User profiling, modelling and adaptive learning
User assessment
Neurophysiological signal processing

The candidate must hold a Master degree in electronics/software engineering, computer science, multimedia or equivalent.
Programming experience is required.
Strong motivation and interest in artificial intelligence, games, simulation and virtual reality is requested.

The candidate must show an outstanding academic CV, with proved experience in one or more of the covered fields.
References are mandatory.

The activity will be carried out in the context of international projects/proposals/activities in strong relationship with relevant institutions and companies.

Funding Notes

The Ph. D. student standard salary is € 14,000 tax-free per year. (no tuition fees, apart from a subscription in the order of 20€)
Reawrds may be awarded for significant achieved targets (generally: € 1,000-3,000, annually).

For scolarships, figures are similar, but should be discussed based on the candidate's profile.
