About the Project

Four competitive KESS 2 studentships are available to excellent students to fund an MSc by Research degree in Molecular Medicine. The studentships provide a stipend of £11,702 with a fee waiver for BU tuition fees.

The MSc by Research degree in Molecular Medicine uses a multi-disciplinary, research-based approach to teach students the skills needed to pursue a research career in academia, industry or research institutes. The research projects will be allocated after discussions with potential supervisors and performed under direct supervision of a research group leader in one of the well-equipped laboratories of the Bangor North West Cancer Research Institute at the School of Medical and Health Sciences.

The scholarships are sponsored by North West Cancer Research, successful applicants are expected to participate in fund raising and public engagement activities of North West Cancer Research (http://nwcr.org/) and the Bangor NWCR Institute.

Applicants are expected to hold a BSc degree equivalent to a UK 2.2 in a relevant subject. KESS 2 East is a pan-Wales higher level skills initiative led by Bangor University on behalf of the HE sector in Wales. It is part funded by the Welsh Government’s European Social Fund (ESF) convergence programme for East Wales.

Due to ESF funding, eligibility restrictions apply to this scholarship. To be eligible, the successful candidate will need to be resident in East Wales on University registration, and must have the right to work in the region on qualification.
