Measurement of VOCs in selected cell lines
Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) are identified as potential biomarkers of disease states both in vitro and in vivo. This project will involve the development of assays, using methods such as Single Drop Micro Extraction (SDME), Solid Phase Micro Extraction (SPME) and Thermal Desorption (TD) followed by mass spectrometry techniques to detect and measure VOCs in a range of selected cell lines treated with a variety of compounds. The study aims to develop improved assays for the measurement of disease biomarkers in vivo.
