Applications are invited for a fully-funded PhD position at Southampton Business School, awarded on the basis of academic excellence to new students who will commence a research programme in Oct 2019. We are looking for applicants interested in the interface of Management Sciences/ Operational Research, Game Theory and Economics, especially in Mechanism Design with the presence of both cooperation and competition (i.e., coopetition).
Topic: Mechanism Design under both Competition and Cooperation
Requirement: Scholarships will be awarded on a competitive basis. The candidate should have a strong background in Operational Research/Management Sciences. Knowledge on game theory and computer programming are very desirable. Applicants should have a good degree (equivalent to a UK first-class honours or 2:1 degree) in Management Sciences/Operational Research or a related discipline. Applicants should also meet University standard English language requirements for PhD students.
