Medical imaging is a clinically established tool to assess structural or (and) functional abnormalities in a respiratory system. It may provide valuable information beyond the human senses. This research project aims to apply computational modelling techniques in the development of an AI algorithm to improve the medical image-based pulmonary disease diagnosis. The activities will require significant computational modelling and algorithm analysis in close collaboration with a world-leading medical imaging research group and a global industry partner. This research will give a unique opportunity to explore the multi-disciplinary fields of Science, Engineering and Healthcare technology.
