About the Project

One PhD position is open at TU Dortmund, Faculty of Architecture and Civil Engineering, Germany (starting from September 2021). The PhD work focuses on the enriched continuum modeling of metamaterials and the conception of meta-structures that control elastic waves and recover energy. (more details at https://angelamadeouniroma.wixsite.com/angela-madeo ).

The PhD will be involved in the development of an enriched micromorphic model and its calibration on specific metamaterials (theoretical / use of Mathematica software). Finite Element simulations will also be developed: implementation of the model on realistic meta-structures (use of COMSOL software). This position is associated to an ERC Consolidator project (META-LEGO) and the salary is in the salary group TV-L 13.

The candidate should be a serious, motivated and skilled student. If you are convinced about your motivation, candidates should please send their CV, transcripts and a motivation letter to: [Email Address Removed].
