About the Project

Description: Mobile robotics are an emerging approach for the discovery of complex materials. This studentship will focus on the development of these methods in the context of complex, multicomponent formulations. A video illustrating this new technology can be found here.

Environment: This studentship will be based in the Materials Innovation Factory (MIF), a new £68 M research facility, supervised by Prof. A. I. Cooper FRS, the MIF Academic Director. The studentship is funded by EPSRC. Unilever has research activity collocated in the MIF, and the student appointed will spend a proportion of their time working on the private Unilever floor of the MIF building.
Qualifications: A 2:1 or higher degree or equivalent in Chemistry with a strong interest in data-science. Programming experience would be a strong advantage.

Informal enquiries should be addressed to Professor Cooper.

Funding Notes

This 3.5 year studentship is open to both UK students (full award – fees plus stipend) and EU students (partial award – fees only). Full details of the EPSRC eligibility requirements can be found here.
