Project Description

**Australian Domestic Candidates only**

"As new networking technologies emerge, migration of legacy systems into the new technologies is done over a number of years. Cost is usually one of the most important factors in the business decision-making process, however, some implicit costs are difficult to capture and measure. The scope of this project is to develop a model that captures the cost due to the evolution of telecommunications technologies and systems and the level of technical complexity introduced during the evolution process.

The PhD candidate will have opportunities to work closely with technical staff members of a major national telecom provider. The candidate will also learn next-generation networking technologies, Big Data and AI technologies throughout the PhD study term.

Skills required:
- Bachelor (Honours) of Engineering (Telecom) or Science (Math) or similar disciplines.
- Understanding of networking technologies and concepts are desirable.
- Mathematics, economics, and research skills are desirable
- Computer programming skills would be of advantage."

Australian Domestic students: 30th April 2019 (for commencement July 2019) or 30 September 2019 (for commencement January 2020)
International Candidates: 30 June 2019 (for commencement January 2020)
