About the Project

There are many statistical and mathematical models that can be used to predict results of sporting events such as football or tennis match.

The project aims at systematizing and comparing different models and applying them for predicting outcomes of different sporting events. Many models used for modelling highly volatile events such as tennis match resemble the models used in financial mathematics to analyse stocks. The work on the project involves analysis of very large amounts of real data. New algorithms will be devised.

We are interested in pursuing this project and welcome applications if you are self-funded or have funding from other sources, including government sponsorships or your employer.

HOW TO APPLY

Please contact the supervisor, Dr A Pepelyshev, when you want to pursue this project, citing the project title in your email.
