About the Project

We are actively recruiting Ph.D. students for multiphysics modeling of lithium-ion batteries. The length scale spans from atomic, molecular, and continuum levels (covering energy materials, electrode, cell, module, pack and electric vehicles). The successful candidates will be working with the PI develop high-fidelity multiphysics models to describe battery safety and durability behaviors.

• Target entry year: Fall 2023, Spring 2024

• Number of available positions: 3 (fully financially sponsored)

• Highly motivated and responsible students

• Solid background in Mechanics of Materials, Math/Physics, Material Science, and strong hands-on skills with B.S. or M.S. degree

• Interested in research areas of battery safety, durability, and multifunctionality

• Underrepresented groups (e.g., females, minorities, veteran students) are especially encouraged.
