Project Description

Dr. Choon Hwai Yap’s lab is moving to Imperial College in July 2020, and is looking for multiple talented and highly-motivated PhD students, to engage in innovative research on nanostructured haemostatic materials. Candidate with strong background in nano-material fabrication and testing for biomedical applications, are have experience with biological assays are especially welcome.

This current project will continue a recent discovery that nano-fibrous materials can be excellent haemostatic patches to stop bleeding quickly, cause rapid clotting, and detaches with ease after clotting. We strive to understand the mechanisms by which this happens in a multidisciplinary team, by studying blood biological reactions to various types of nanostructured materials under various conditions.
The candidate will be co-advised by team of materials, haemotology and clinical experts in a cross-disciplinary environment, and useful outcomes will be pushed for commercialization.

How to Apply
Candidates should please send a single pdf file, consisting of a 1-page motivation letter and a CV to . Reference letters may be requested for shortlisted candidate.
