Nanofabrication using new resist materials


Project Description

A PhD studentship in nanofabrication working with Professors Richard Winpenny and Stephen Yeates, within the Department of Chemistry at the University of Manchester. The project will involve use of novel materials for performing fabrication by scanning electron microscopy, ink-jet printing and transfer printing, and is related to the EPSRC Programme Grant “Heteroprint” which involves partners in Glasgow, Cambridge, Strathclyde and Sheffield. The position is available for 3.5 years starting in September 2019 and would be suitable for a candidate with a background in materials chemistry, materials or a related subject.

Applicants are expected to hold, or about to obtain, a minimum upper second class undergraduate degree (or equivalent) in Chemistry or Materials or Physics or a related discipline.

Funding Notes

This is a 3.5 year EPSRC DTG funded studentship covering fees and stipend(£15,009 p.a. in 2019/20).

Open to UK and EU nationals only, due to funding restrictions.

We expect the programme to start in September 2019.
