About the Project

The project will study the use of gold and gold palladium alloy catalysts for the generation of hydrogen peroxide in water for disinfection. The project will build upon previous studies that have identified a new catalytic route for water disinfection. The science involves the preparation and characterisation using advanced spectroscopy and microscopy of gold containing alloy catalysts and studying their activity for the generation of hydrogen peroxide and reactive oxygen species in water.
