New Resins for Next Generation Advanced Composite Materials

Insitute for Frontier Materials

Melbourne Australia Chemical Engineering Computational Chemistry Organic Chemistry Materials Science Polymer Chemistry

About the Project

Carbon Nexus at Deakin University is Australia’s carbon fibre and composite research facility conducting research across the entire composite materials value chain from carbon fibre and new resins to composite manufacturing. A PhD opportunity has arisen with the composite and modelling groups to synthesise and investigate thermosetting resin systems for high performance composite materials that are tougher and stronger, yet sustainable and multi-functional.

The project will be ideally suited for candidates with a passion for synthesis, materials science and/or materials modelling. Candidates will require a high degree of knowledge of polymer chemistry, network polymers and/or molecular simulations.
