   School of Business

Prof Paul Allanson, Dr Daniel Borbely  Friday, March 31, 2023  Funded PhD Project (Students Worldwide)

About the Project

This PhD will give you the opportunity to explore how personal well-being has evolved over the course of the COVID-19 pandemic and to identify those social groups most affected by lockdown and other measures. Specifically, you will investigate how satisfied individuals were with their life overall, whether they felt they had meaning and purpose in their life, and about their levels of happiness and anxiety. You will learn to answer research questions by applying econometric methods to large survey datasets and will thereby develop a range of valuable transferable skills for future employment. The successful applicant will be expected to hold a good MSc in Economics, Health Economics or related quantitative social science discipline.
