About the Project

** PLEASE NOTE - This is an Early Stage Researcher employment opportunity funded by Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions, appointment is for a maximum of 3 years, to be completed with a doctoral thesis.**

We seek a highly motivated individual to join our team and as part of your employment to enrol and become a PhD-student, applying lipidomic methods to human RA cohorts and in vivo models, to determine the role of lipids from lipoxygenases (LOX) in the pathogenesis of this disease.

LOXs generate a complex array of bioactive lipids and are strongly implicated in RA development. Here we will focus on how LOX drives systemic complications of RA through generating lipids that move through the bloodstream to promote blood clotting and thrombotic complications.

You will plan and undertake the experiments and will report and publish the results in scientific journals and at international conferences. The project includes fundamental structural molecular and cellular work as well as translational applications. Full training in vivo models, cohort sample analysis and lipidomics MS/MS will be provided
